TONIGHT: Post budget briefing – The most important broken promises (online)
The Antipoverty Centre invites welfare recipients, unemployed people and our supporters to join us online at 7pm AEST tonight (Tuesday 19 May) to hear post budget analysis of measures affecting people in poverty.
Media are welcome to join the event until the formal part of the agenda concludes and will be asked to leave for informal discussions. This event is free for all. Registration is required.
Event information
Panellists will share issues and insights on what the economic outlook means for unemployed people and precarious workers; how tax and housing measures are likely to affect low income people; impact of NDIS changes; the government’s plans for spending on the unlawful Targeted Compliance Framework and (un)employment services system; and the opposition’s misinformation campaign against migrants and their access to welfare and tax benefits.
