We rely on community support.
We are an unfunded organisation and our work is led by unpaid people who rely on social security payments to live. We’re committed to radical transparency and will be publishing information about our finances and what we do with funds.
If you are comfortably able to do so, we would be grateful for your support in covering our minimal operating costs. If you’re on a low income, please don’t contribute financially! It is just as valuable if you can help by sharing our work and request for support.
Once our costs are covered, any additional funds are used to pay other unemployed and low income to do things like write about their experiences, participate as event speakers, attend parliamentary hearings, and other activities that include and foreground those of us who are usually marginalised.
We need to raise about $2,000 to cover the insurance we have in place to protect our contributors and everyone who participates in our work and events. It’s due for renewal in January 2023.
You can contribute to our work via a secure payment platform. Sign up for a recurring donation (adjust the quantity to change the amount) or make a one-off contribution using the buttons on this page. You will be sent a receipt however even though we’re a non-profit organisation we don’t have Deductible Gift Recipient status. Donations to the Antipoverty Centre are not tax deductible.
